The interior design scheme for this commercial space was derived from the concept of ‘surface and light’ in seeking new ways to articulate space within a confined context. First, we used curved surfaces and slanted canopy to consider the space as interior landscape from which different ceiling condition would emerge; the second was a series of milled concave wood panels and tesselated metal screen create dynamic space of their own, rather than acting as sculptural objects in neutral container; and the third to create an instantly recognizable zones, such as open display, shelf display, and dining area, for the store that was vivid in its individuality, with flexibility and accessibility being key objectives.
